Welcome to our first quarterly edition of Integrated Reefer News for 2025. We are pleased to provide you with the latest information and updates from MCI.
2025 is well underway, and while the new year has begun, it’s important to take a moment to reflect on the key moments of 2024 before we look ahead to the opportunities the new year brings for MCI.
2024 in Review: Reaching new goals together with our customers and partners
Last year was significant for all MCI colleagues and me, marking several important milestones. One of the highlights was the launch of the upgraded Star Cool 1.1, which incorporates a flexible triple refrigerant solution. This new solution supports our ongoing commitment to providing more sustainable options for refrigerated transport, helping our customers reduce emissions and improve energy efficiency, making the Star Cool 1.1 your own ”residual value insurance policy”.
We also reached a major production milestone with the completion of our 500,000th Star Cool. This achievement reflects the trust our customers have placed in MCI and underscores the long-term value our solutions provide.
While 2024 brought its challenges in fluctuating reefer demand, I wish to commend my colleagues for their dedication and ability to adapt, ensuring that we finished the year on a positive note, delivering a solid result.

2025: Continuous improvement
As we look ahead to the year, we are in a strong position, but we are not resting on our laurels. The demand for the Star Cool 1.1 is robust, with over 25,000 units already sold or in the order books, and we are well-prepared for the year ahead.
A crucial component in MCI in driving continuous improvement is Sekstant. We are basing our business and product decisions on the massive amounts of data from the real life of reefers. This data-driven culture has brought into focus the advantages of real-time access to reefer data to gain insights and draw conclusions based on the facts. This also applied for the Star Cool 1.1, where the trial units were followed closely with Sekstant. Data gathered from the trials was compared with the more than 150,000 Star Cool 1.0’s that are equipped with Sekstant to highlight differences and prove the design enhancements made in real life use. Star Cool 1.1 units continue to be monitored in operation to ensure quality and continuous innovations are made in all circumstances.
With these solid foundations, we are optimistic about MCI’s continued growth and the opportunity to further support our customers in achieving their goals. We are committed to delivering products that continue to meet the needs of the market and support reliability, efficiency and sustainability.
