Lauren Andrews

Department: Service
Position: Global Service Support
Employed since: December, 2017

When did you start at MCI and what motivated you to join the company?
After Siemens decided to close their operations in the area I was out of a job. I met MCI at a job fair in Southern Denmark. They were very quick with their interview process and I started working in Tinglev in December 2017.

What do you like most about your job?
My job in the Service department is filled with variety and tasks which keep me motivated and challenged. A typical workday for me includes contact with the rest of the team working around the world, as well as our external service providers. I enjoy using my creative and organizational skills to develop interactive online training modules, instructional videos, and technical documentation.

Why do you think MCI is a great place to work?
MCI is a company that is always moving, always innovative. My colleagues are very helpful, and we all work together to progress quickly to our common goals. Everyone plays their part and celebrates the successes together. Our staff association arranges fun events which is a great opportunity to meet with colleagues outside of work in a more informal atmosphere.

Best advice to foreigners in this area:
Getting a job in Denmark can be tricky if you are not a Dane, that is why it is key that you learn the language. By going to the Danish language courses, not only do you improve your chances of getting a job, but you also meet people in the same situation as you, which is a great way to get a network when you first move here.
