Coolest part of my job:
As maintenance manager, I can gain a great deal of equipment knowledge. As the remote contact for equipment, I inform users how to operate the equipment and give the maintenance person guidance.
When did you start working for MCI and what motivated you to join the company?
I started at MCI on 25 December 1998. The reason why I have been with MCI for so long is our core values. They make it easy to work and communicate because we all live up to the company’s values in our daily work. I feel that we have an open culture where it is okay to speak your mind and I am very proud of that.
What are your tasks and responsibility areas?
My main job is to build the maintenance system/strategy, manage the maintenance team, and ensure the safety, stability and sustainability on all equipment on site.
I set up the EAM system and push engineers to create the maintenance sequence in the system, encourage the maintenance section to carry out work orders and provide feedback in a timely manner. I also ensure that the engineers analyse any equipment issues and take appropriate action, etc.
What do you like most about your job?
I really enjoy the coaching part of my role and being able to help my colleagues. I am also a naturally dedicated technical person and enjoy working together as a team to solve the issues we face every day.
Why do you think MCI is a great place to work?
Because of our great company values. They provide us with permanent guidance and give us the basics on how to communicate and behave in terms of our priorities with safety, compliance, etc. We all share the same sense of how to run the business. In my opinion, I feel that our colleagues are very good at taking the initiative and motivating themselves.

What does a typical working day look like for you?
I start by reading the night shift report and getting my breakfast in the canteen. After that, I go through and approve the maintenance plan drawn up by our engineers for the coming weeks in our ERP system. As manager, I spend most of my day supporting and supervising the teams with daily tasks and challenges.
Have you had any really positive experiences recently?
I got promoted and was transferred to a new department this year, for which I am very grateful. It means that I can continue my development and learning path within MCI.
Hard work is the foundation for achieving meaning and value in life.
