Department: MCI Modularization
Coolest part of my job:
Sometimes I need to think in a system perspective if I’m involved in a modularization setup, sometimes I need to change my way of thinking to concentrate on a dimension tolerance. It’s interesting and fascinating.
When did you start at MCI and what motivated you to join the company?
I started on 1 March 2019. Before I joined MCI, I had been looking for a job that would enable me to reach my full potential. I did a lot of research on the company and soon discovered that it is known and respected throughout the world. I was initially contacted by a headhunter working for MCIQ HR. After several conversations, I became really interested in joining MCIQ. I am happy that I can live in the dormitory here while I am searching for a home in Qingdao for my family and myself.
What are your tasks and responsibility areas?
My role is really a combination of modularization and Star Cool support. I familiarise myself with modules for all our products, including both reefer container and Star Cool machines. Meanwhile, I provide full support to local teams in relation to all Star Cool technical matters.
What do you like most about your job?
I am proud to be part of MCIQ and I really enjoy the fact that my job is partly technical and partly within management. One aspect of my job consists of providing support on our Star Cool reefer machine to our production team and carrying out design tasks, tests, etc. The other side of my job is concerned with modularization. I find solutions for certain issues and come up with suggestions for areas that could be improved. I like my work because it is challenging in so many ways. Based on my knowledge and experience, I also feel that I can contribute to the development of the MCI box and the Star Cool reefer machine.

What does a typical workday look like for you?
From 07:45-09:00, I browse through my emails and prioritize the ones that need my urgent attention or technical support right away. After that I go to the site. During the day, we will have a joint meeting where we discuss prevention ideas – this is where I get to share my comments based on my own observations and analyses.
