Coolest part of my job:
I never miss a single rivet or self-tapping screw on the box on which I need to install the fixed backplate.
When did you start at MCI and what motivated you to join the company?
I started with the company on 16 February 2017. I was told about the job opportunity by a friend who lives in the same community as me, who also works here. I found it interesting as the company provides good benefits and the work here is stable.
What are your tasks and responsibility areas?
First, I need to check whether the previous process has been completed and whether anything has been missed. Once I am satisfied that everything is in order, install the fixed backplate and carry out a series of checks myself. In the process of installing the backplate, my task is to fix rivets and self-tapping screws and carefully check my own work.
What do you like most about your job?
I like the working atmosphere here. My colleagues and I support each other and the managers trust you. If we do a job particularly well, we are given individual encouragement by our leaders. We help each other when we are working on the production line and cover for each other if a colleague needs to leave the line for a moment. I feel proud of our products and actively involved, which makes me want to contribute more.
Why do you think MCI is a great place to work?
Maersk Container Industry provides training opportunities, for example in welding. We have a good working atmosphere and I think that is important because it affects everyone's mood. I am also happy to recommend my friends to work here and have actually already recommended two friends so far.

What is the best time of your day?
The best time of the day is when we get to the end of the day and can see the results of our efforts – all the containers we produced that day – and this makes me feel good.
What is the best thing that happened in the last year?
We reintroduced our Star Cool unit and managed to boost output to more than 1,000 units per month in record time.
