Employment Engagement
A.P. Moller - Maersk puts great emphasis on the employees'
perceptions of the work environment. Therefore, a yearly global
online survey called the Employee Engagement
Survey (EES) is conducted throughout the entire
Group.

In this survey engagement is defined as:
-
A strong belief in and acceptance of the goals and values of A.P. Moller - Maersk
-
A willingness to exert considerable efforts on behalf of A.P. Moller - Maersk
-
A strong desire to maintain membership in A.P. Moller - Maersk
The Employee Engagement Survey is conducted in 125 countries and, in 2009, approximately 88% of the registered headcount participated in the survey.
After completing the questionnaire all answers are generated
into a unique report for each department head, thereby giving the
manager an overview of the engagement among his/her employees. The
manager then calls them in for a feedback meeting, where
he/she together with the employees discuss the results of the
survey and, if necessary, draw up action plans with the aim of
raising employee engagement.
The results of the survey are an important tool in developing
an even better working environment, but also a step towards
becoming an even stronger and truly value-driven organisation.
