Time Line

1991, Maersk Container Industry AS (MCI) was founded in Tinglev, Denmark for the manufacturing of dry containers.

1996, the facility in Denmark was expanded with a reefer container plant.

1998, MCI launched the reefer machine - Star Cool.

1999, MCI acquired a reefer container factory in Qingdao, China, and Maersk Container Industry Qingdao Ltd. was established. 

2000, dry container production was closed in Tinglev, Denmark.

2002, world wide trial of 30 prototypes of Star Cool unit.

2004, MCI invested in facilities for the manufacturing of dry containers, and  Maersk Container Industry Dongguan Ltd. in the Guangdong Province, China was established.

2005, production of Star Cool units in PRC. 

2007, headquarter of MCI is located in Tinglev, Denmark.

2008, opening of Star Cool production facilities in Qingdao, China. The same year launching of MCI Integrated.

2010, a world wide network of 275 Star Cool service providers.
