Built on an ambition to do it better...
Maersk Container Industry (MCI) has developed and supplied first
class cargo transportation solutions since 1991. A winning
combination of innovation, quality and reliability lies behind our
ability to create technologically advanced, cost efficient shipping
equipment.
The idea behind MCI was developed by the technical manager at
Odense Steel Shipyard, Mr. Niels Peter Raun, who on his travels to
Asia was disappointed by the lack of quality, supply security and
high price levels of the supplies to Maersk Line. Upon returning
home he decided that there must be a better, more cost effective
and reliable way of obtaining the containers the company needed,
and in 1991 MCI was born.
The primary goal of the new company was - and still is - to develop
and supply customers with first class containers and cargo
transportation equipment with the lowest Total Cost of Ownership
(TCO).
Today, MCI has a strong global presence, employing approximately 4,100 people in Denmark and China. Since opening we have become a strong global supplier of equipment to a large group of leading shipping lines and leasing companies.
We currently offer three unique products:
Dry containers, reefer containers and the innovative Star Cool
reefer machines.
